If Dr. K. T. Dholakia is considered as the cornerstone of the Bombay Orthopaedic Society, Dr. L. N. Vora was considered as its pillar of strength.

An astute clinician, a gifted teacher and an ethical human being, he kept serving the Bombay Orthopaedic Society till his ripe age. A Rotarian with the Bombay Hills South Rotary Club, he was the Organising Secretary of IOACON 1980, the International Delegate of SICOT for India from 1985 till 2001, as well as the Vice President of SICOT 1990 - 1993, the Vice President of the I. O. A., the Honorary Treasurer of the Indian Arthroscopy Society, the Honorary Secretary of the Indian Rheumatological Association and had delivered the prestigious Katrak Oration of the Bombay Orthopaedic Society's Annual Scientific Conference.

His academic achievement includes - Worked as an Honorary Professor of Orthopaedics at the Seth G. S. Medical College, MS Orth. Examiner at the Universities of Mumbai, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Pune, Madras and Delhi, he had been an expert advisor to MPSC, UPSC, GPSC and the AIMS Examination Boards, as well as co-authored a book with the late Dr. P. M. Desai of Ahmedabad called Orthopaedics for Undergraduates" published by Churchill Livingstone in 1990.

Dr. L. N. Vora kept serving to the Board of the College of Physicians & Surgeons and was the permanent Internal Auditor of the Bombay Orthopaedic Society.
