Born in 1949, Dr. Sushil Sabnis started his medical
journey with the Bombay Orthopaedic Society in 1981
as an Executive Committee member. He went on to
rise through the ranks to become the Honorary
Secretary, the WIROC Secretary, the Vice President,
and then the youngest President of the Bombay
Orthopaedic Society of his time.
One of the pioneers of Arthroscopy in Mumbai,
Dr. Sabnis pursued Fellowships in Arthroscopy in the
U.S., while continuing with his private practice at the
Sabnis Hospital in Goregaon, as well as heading the
Department of Orthopaedics at the Bhagwati
Hospital in Borivali.
Having also founded and established the Suburban Orthopaedic Society to promote Orthopaedic Education in the suburbs of Mumbai, Dr. Sabnis pursued a Diploma in Medico-Legal Education and then established the Medico-Legal Cell of the B. O. S.
